International partners and stakeholders will be participating to address criminal hacking.
The White House has announced an upcoming international counter-ransomware event. Over 30 partners are expected to participate in the cooperation to enhance network resilience, address the financial system that has enabled hackers to profit from ransomware, collaborate with law enforcement to disrupt ransomware’s “ecosystem,” and leverage diplomacy.
“Ransomware incidents have disrupted critical services and businesses worldwide – schools, banks, government offices, emergency services, hospitals, energy companies, transportation, and food companies have all been affected,“ Press Secretary Jen Psaki stated. While the president has worked with the U.S. private sector to boost security, the press secretary said, “International partnership is key since transnational criminal organizations are often the perpetrators of ransomware crimes, leveraging global infrastructure and money laundering networks to carry out their attacks.“
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For the president and his administration as they host the event to counter ransomware.
- For wisdom for all participants as they cooperate on solutions to hacking.
- For international partners and allies as strategies are developed to prevent cyber attacks.
